Art & Mechanical Website

We served as the technical partner for the Toronto-based design agency Art & Mechanical. Our mission was to build a website that perfectly showcased their creative portfolio while also delivering a high-performance, future-friendly digital experience. Since this was to be the Art & Mechanical digital calling card, the pressure was high to make sure each pixel was perfectly placed:  prospective clients needed to be wowed, and come away not only impressed by the creative vision but confident that A & M was the right choice to handle their digital business.

The challenge

As a leader in creative design, Art & Mechanical’s website had to be both visually stunning and technically flawless. They required a platform that was fast, modern, but at the same time simple to manage for their team at all levels. To that end, the goal was to deliver a CMS that provided full control over content but without sacrificing one ounce of dynamism or performance that a premium and competitive design portfolio demands.

Our role and solution

Our solution was architected with a decoupled solution from day one, leveraging the flexibility of a WordPress CMS for content management, overlaid with power of ReactJS for the UI. This choice allowed us to deliver a site that was  both easy to update and exceptionally fast, scoring a perfect 100 on the Goole Lighthouse page performance analysis tool.

Content empowerment and API

At the core of the project, we built a flexible WordPress CMS that allows the Art & Mechanical team to easily update and organize their portfolio. We then developed a custom API layer that seamlessly connects the CMS to the frontend, ensuring content changes are reflected instantly and effortlessly.

High-performance frontend

We used ReactJS to build a modern, performance-first frontend. This approach ensures a fast-loading, smooth, and interactive experience for visitors, allowing the agency’s stunning visual work to take centre stage without delay.
