Museum of Contemporary Art of Montreal Website

As a long-term digital partner of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal since 2016, we were entrusted with the complete redesign of their main website. This project marked the second major overhaul of the site, allowing us to build on our previous work and deliver a new digital home for the museum’s vision.

Our approach was a comprehensive process, spanning strategy, design, and technical execution to deliver a future-proof and scalable platform.

Strategic blueprinting

We began by collaborating closely with the MAC team and stakeholders to develop a new sitemap and content structure that would better serve their visitors and their evolving needs. We defined all key project requirements, ensuring the final product would align perfectly with both user needs and the museum’s strategic goals.

Design-to-development workflow

We led the organization of the entire design process. Our team was responsible for breaking down the visual concepts into a library of reusable components, which were then extended and adapted for all pages. This meticulous preparation ensured a seamless handoff to development and a consistent user experience across the entire site.

Content & systems integration

At the core of the project, we architected a flexible Content Management System (CMS) with an intuitive page builder. This empowers the MAC’s team to manage content effortlessly. We also handled the complex task of content migration and built seamless integrations with the museum’s existing systems, including their Collections database and e-commerce platform, to create a unified digital ecosystem.
