Solution architecture and web development
With more than two million visitors every week, Toronto Union Station offers a unique experience within a stunning historical landmark in the heart of downtown. In collaboration with the design agency Art & Mechanical, our role was to architect and develop a digital platform worthy of this major historical building.
Our role and solution
We were tasked with architecting and developing a Drupal-based website that would allow the client to easily manage content, events, and news articles. The main challenge was delivering a visually rich and entirely internally manageable site within an extremely tight timeframe.
Aggressive timeline & architecture
The site was built on an aggressive five-week timeline. To meet this challenging deadline, we chose a solid architectural approach that enabled our team to develop quickly while ensuring optimal quality and robustness.
Fexible CMS
We utilized Drupal Panels to give the client full control over page structure and content management. While each section has its own unique look and feel and color scheme, all content and page structures are entirely CMS-managed, which significantly simplifies the editing process for the client.
Adaptive user experience
The site is fully responsive, ensuring a fluid and consistent user experience regardless of the device used by the high volume of visitors.
Key outcomes
The result is a powerful, visually impressive, and easily manageable platform. The new website now serves as an efficient digital hub, capable of handling the massive volume of online visitors and meeting the internal team’s content management needs.
