LittleBox's Role

Web development

Voyce was an early-stage startup focused on pet wellness, creating a wearable health tracker for dogs. The device combined hardware (a collar-mounted tracker) and firmware (sensors + data transmission), paired with an online portal that became its primary differentiator in a competitive market.

Our role

We partnered with DMI during the founding phase of Voyce, working across the full digital ecosystem. Our scope included:

  • Concepting and design: user stories, flows, and journey mapping.
  • Portal architecture and build: Drupal 8 as the backbone CMS, extended into a hybrid marketing, content, and data dashboard platform.
  • Custom UI components: bespoke JavaScript visualizations, user dashboards, and printing capabilities.

Our solution

Marketing & e-commerce funnel

We designed the public-facing marketing site with the dual purpose of introducing the product and immediately driving purchases by integrating full e-commerce functionality for both device sales and subscription services. Furthermore, we built tailored landing experiences specifically to optimize the conversion funnel, ensuring that marketing efforts effectively led to high rates of subscription adoption.

Content library & search

We designed and developed a comprehensive knowledge center exclusively for authenticated users, which serves as a repository for scientifically vetted pet health articles. To populate this resource, we implemented content ingestion pipelines capable of fetching and transforming external articles into structured Drupal content. Finally, we built a sophisticated search layer over this library, ensuring pet owners can quickly and reliably find relevant, trusted health information.

Data analytics dashboard

We developed the REST API integration to connect the device firmware (responsible for reporting pet telemetry) directly with the Drupal portal, which allowed us to design a real-time dashboard for owners to monitor pet activity, vitals, and health insights. Because modern graphing libraries weren’t yet mature, we engineered custom JavaScript visualization components for all charts, time-series graphs, and indicators, ultimately ensuring the interface was lightweight and consumable by translating complex pet health metrics into clear, owner-facing insights.

Print-ready veterinary reports

To address the high user demand for exportable, shareable data to bring to veterinary visits, we implemented Server-Side Rendering engine to quickly format the complex dashboards into printable, PDF-like reports, a feature developed well before modern browsers offered robust native print-to-PDF support. The final design carefully balanced data fidelity with layout clarity so that the reports could be quickly and accurately interpreted in fast-paced clinical contexts.

Outcome

The Voyce platform evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem by successfully combining marketing, content, and analytics into a single, seamless user journey that spanned from initial purchase through to daily engagement. The central dashboard served as the primary engagement channel for pet owners, consistently delivering real-time health insights and effectively building brand trust. By prioritizing robust UX design and bespoke technical solutions, we helped Voyce launch with a digital experience strong enough to differentiate them from early competitors in the pet tech market.
